Storyline

Bob Hodges has spent nineteen years in the Los Angeles Police Department when he is paired with Danny McGavin. The younger officer wants quick results; Hodges is more willing to listen, warn and wait. Their assignment is gang policing, and an early killing places them among witnesses who have good reasons to fear talking. The partners disagree about what authority can achieve on the street. Around them, Bloods and Crips continue a conflict that neither man can control simply by making another arrest. McGavin has to learn the territory and the people in it while working beside someone whose methods he does not yet respect.
