Storyline:   "Anything Else" is a 2003 romantic comedy film that follows the story of Jerry Falk, a young aspiring writer living in New York City. Jerry is struggling with both his career and his love life, but things start to change when he meets Amanda, an eccentric and free-spirited woman. As Jerry and Amanda's relationship develops, Jerry must navigate the challenges of their unconventional romance, including his own insecurities and Amanda's unpredictable behavior. Along the way, Jerry seeks guidance from his mentor, an older writer named David, who has his own set of problems in both his career and marriage.   1. The movie is loosely based on Woody Allen's own experiences as a young comedy writer who married at a young age and met an older man who taught him about life, comedy, and philosophy (and who was institutionalized).
  2. During filming, Woody Allen mistook Jason Biggs for a Jewish actor, and started talking to him about Rosh Hashanah. Biggs, who is Catholic, didn't know how to respond, leading Allen to express his surprise, saying that he thought Biggs was Jewish after seeing him in American Pie (1999).
  3. In one scene, Jerry refers to a very funny comedian who wrote "Never Trust A Naked Bus Driver," a reference to Jack Douglas, who also wrote "My Brother Was An Only Child."
  4. Jason Biggs worked on this movie during the day and performed in the stage adaptation of "The Graduate" opposite Kathleen Turner on Broadway in the evenings.
  5. The movie opened the 60th Venice Film Festival, and Woody Allen made a rare public appearance at the opening gala.
