1. On November 28, 1976, Randall Adams and David Harris watched the movie at a Dallas drive-in as part of a double feature, preceded by "The Student Body." Both men later mentioned their attendance at the drive-in while being investigated for the murder of Dallas police officer Robert W. Wood. Adams also stated that he left the movie before it was finished due to discomfort with its content. His subsequent conviction was later portrayed in the 1988 film "The Thin Blue Line."
2. In 1996, this movie was selected by Quentin Tarantino for the First Quentin Tarantino Film Fest in Austin, Texas and later was featured in the Satan's Cheerleader Camp Film Fest in Austin 2000, organized by The Satan's Cheerleaders. They were thanked at the end of the 2007 film "Grindhouse."
3. The movie was originally filmed under the title "Stand Up and Holler." Some of the actresses involved in the movie later said that they wouldn't have accepted their roles if they had known the title would be changed to "The Swinging Cheerleaders."
4. The movie received an Italian censorship visa, #69898 on March 10, 1977.
