Storyline:   In the film The Sound of Silence (2019), Peter Lucian is a "house tuner" who has taken up residence in New York City and spends his life trying to understand the significance of home closeness so subtly that it interfaces with the emotions and well-being of the individual. Using a methodical approach, he diagnoses and alters soundscapes-including fine-tuning hum noises of different appliances and reverberations of life within the city to balance the lives of his clients. The line that distinguishes science from art is almost blurred with what Peter does because he carries in his heart a very personal and deep belief in the force of sound an influencing factor in human experiences. However, it also makes Peter a solitary individual who is not very friendly with the unpredictable and messy world of human relationships because he insists on acoustic perfection everywhere.

As Peter gets onto a new project: a client, now female, suffering from inexplicable exhaustion, he meets with a problem that doesn't conform to his well-measured techniques. The cases he probes deepen new paths for his worldview as he has to challenge his rigid theories and the limitations of his art. It pulls Peter out into the complicated coils of emotional resonance and connection, out of his insular existence. The Sound of Silence is a contemplative art of narrative, dealing with possible isolation in the search for meaning, and the deep ways in which sound - and silence - shape our understandings of the world and within ourselves.
