The First Power Trivia

  1. The movie originally had a different ending that took place in a warehouse rather than in the sewers. This original ending was less action-packed. After a successful test screening, the producers provided the filmmakers with additional funding and a short amount of time to film a new and more exciting ending. The last shot of the film was also modified to include sequel bait, as the producers had already planned to make sequels. Not much information is available about the original ending or its current existence, but there are stills that show parts of it.

  2. During filming, the movie was initially referred to as "Transit" in press materials. This was due to the killer's ability to jump between bodies as a means of moving around the city. However, the US distributor, Orion, decided to re-title the film "The First Power" during post-production. The new title aimed to make potential viewers more aware of the movie's supernatural/horror elements.

  3. In a particular scene where the killer appears to jump off a building from about five stories high, lands on his feet, and then runs away, the stunt double performed the action without the use of special effects.
